Bridging the Fiber Gap

Arizona to New Mexico Long-Haul, Middle Mile Fiber

The Dark Fiber Link to the Southwest

1000 route miles of abundant fiber

Express
Connect

Powerful & Exclusive Fiber

MMR Fiber will offer a direct and exclusive uninterrupted connection for hyperscalers/datacenters needing complete control along the transmission path.  Express Connections provide uninterrupted spans of dark fiber purpose-built to your specs.

Community
Connect

Access for the Under-served

MMR Fiber will bring a high-speed resilient route to the under-served in rural New Mexico and Arizona. Giving communities access to modern fiber, MMR Fiber will be purpose-built with meet points and new sites for high-speed network connections.

Solving Latency, Limited
Capacity, & Diversity.

New Routes Improve Diversity

MMR Fiber is creating new fiber routes to bring diversity to a congested area.

Opening the Bottleneck, Lowering Latency

MMR Fiber opens the bottleneck with new geographically diverse fiber paths using powerful best-in-class fiber designed to scale with growing fiber needs.

Filling the Southwest Fiber Gap

New Mexico itself has a fiber gap rendering many communities underserved. MMR fiber is providing New Mexico and Arizona a large portion of low latency fiber connections and community meet-points.

Increasing Attractiveness for Edge Computing

Our new fiber paths open the doors for edge computing innovations by providing resilient connections for data centers and hyperscalers in the optimal southwestern land and climate.

Frequently Asked Questions

About MMR Fiber

What is MMR Fiber Solutions?

MMR Fiber Solutions is a dedicated team of professions tasked to construct and operate an open-access private network offering wholesale, point-to-point high-capacity fiber infastrcutre to empower organizations to light and manage their own private long-haul networks. MMR Fiber will connect carriers, service providers, hyperscalers and others in Albuquerque, Tucson and Phoenix, and El Paso.

Who is behind MMR Fiber?

Since 1991, MMR Constructors has been building more than projects—it’s been building trust, relationships, and a reputation of excellence. MMR has grown into the largest open-shop electrical and instrumentational contractor in the US. With 30 offices across North America and +10,000 employees, MMR thrives on building complex projects throughout the world. Since inception, MMR has demonstrated competency across broad sectors, completing project on schedule and within a structure budget.

What is the timeline of this project?

The route is under construction and will be operational by 2027.

Dark Fiber Technology

What is dark fiber?

MMR Fiber will provide dark fiber—unused, high-capacity fiber-optic cable that allows organizations to light and manage their own private networks with maximum speed, control, and security.

Interconnection

What are meet points?

MMR Fiber will have two types of meet points. Our colocation huts will be powered, climate controlled, telecom-grade facilities with battery and generator backup, access control, secured collation space for tenant equipment and diverse fiber entrances. The other meet point type will be passive interconnection points in the field which will consist of fiber vaults designed to accommodate fiber connections in the field where we do not yet foresee the need for a powered facility, but do recognize an opportunity to interface with a nearby network.

Can MMR Fiber accommodate custom routes or laterals to specific facilities?

MMR Fiber will have meet points and 12 regen sites of fiber vaults along the route designed to accommodate fiber connections for new networks should the opportunity arise. MMR Fiber is currently in the planning process allowing for potential prospects to be part of the design process to accomodate their needs.
